Arctic water for artists.

Natural spring water from above the Arctic Circle, in paperboard cartons of 250, 330 and 500 ml. Made for dressing rooms, rehearsal halls, orchestra pits and festival stages. No plastic bottle in the shot.

The source

One spring, 68 degrees north.

ONDE rises from a single spring in Arctic Finland, north of the Arctic Circle, where the ground stays frozen for half the year and the water filters slowly through granite and sand. It arrives naturally alkaline, very low in dissolved solids, and free of microplastics.

Every carton is traceable to the spring's coordinates printed on its label. Nothing is added, nothing is taken out: no ozonation, no flavouring, no carbonation. It is still water, the way musicians drink it between pieces.

What's wrong

Five great rooms. Five plastic bottles.

These are real performance spaces, photographed as they are. In each one, look for the PET bottle: on a stool, on the drum, beside the piano, between the chairs, on the dressing-room mirror. Nobody chose it. It is simply what was there.

It is in the picture

A hall spends months on its lighting, its acoustics, its programme. Then the water arrives in the bottle sold at the petrol station, and it is in every photograph and every broadcast frame.

It makes noise

PET crackles when it is picked up and when it is set down. On a quiet passage, the floor microphones hear it before the audience does.

It ends up on the floor

Half-empty bottles roll under risers and chairs. After the show they go into mixed waste, and a single-use plastic bottle leaves the building as exactly that.

What we put there instead

A matte-black carton that belongs on the table.

Paper, not plastic. Silent in the hand. Readable from the balcony. Collected with the cartons, not with the PET. The sections below show the water, the carton and what it changes for the room.

A slim, matte-black paperboard carton that stands on a flight case, fits a music-stand tray and reads from the balcony. It is filled at the spring and sealed with a small cap that twists off and back on between movements.

Ecology

Water from the Arctic, in a package the Arctic can live with.

The spring sits in one of the least disturbed landscapes in Europe. Keeping it that way is the reason ONDE is not sold in plastic, and the reason the carton is designed to leave as little behind as the water itself.

Every claim below is one we can show on the label or in the supply chain. There is no offsetting in the numbers.

The spring, Arctic FinlandSunset, early autumn
Paper, not PET

The carton body is paperboard from certified, replanted Nordic forests. The small cap is plant-based. No plastic bottle, no shrink sleeve, no label glue.

Lower footprint than bottles

In independent European life-cycle studies, beverage cartons carry a lower carbon footprint than PET or glass bottles of the same volume. They also ship flat to the filling line and stack tighter on the pallet.

Zero microplastics

The water is tested microplastic-free at the spring and is never stored in plastic. What you drink is the aquifer, not the package.

Recycled as a carton

Empties go into the carton stream collected across Europe. The fibre is recovered for new paper products. A venue can set one bin backstage and send the whole evening to one place.

A protected spring

Bottling at the source, with a yearly draw capped well below the spring's natural flow and monitored in real time. The spring is a partner, not a quarry.

Arctic preservation

Part of every case funds the preservation partnership with the local community around the spring. The coordinates on the label are a promise about a real place.

Advantages & facts

Why ONDE, in pictures and in numbers.

What the carton changes for the people on stage, for the people filming them and for the place the water comes from.

Silent on stage

Paperboard does not crackle. Pick it up or set it down during a pianissimo and the floor microphones hear nothing.

The films

Two artists, one carton.

A conductor before a symphony concert. A saxophonist before a festival headline. Chased by the press, back in the dressing room, one sip, then the stage. Each film ends on the ONDE credit a venue can run before its own performance.

The Conductor

30 s · Ravel, Jeux d'eau

Reindeer and aurora over the spring, a dressing-room door shut on the photographers, a quiet sip, then the walk to the podium.

The Saxophonist

30 s · Rhapsody in Blue

The same story told for jazz festivals: a big band waiting, a crowd of thousands, and a hand raised to the night.

Backstage

Venues & festivals

Chosen for festivals and philharmonic halls.

ONDE supplies the water artists actually drink on stage and backstage, and gives the venue a credit worth showing. One delivery covers a season or a weekend.

Dressing rooms and green rooms

A carton on every table before the artists arrive. Riders ask for still water; this is still water that photographs well.

Stage and pit

Fits a music-stand tray, a drum riser, the lip of a grand piano. Matte black, no label glare under the followspot, no crackle of PET on a quiet passage.

Sponsor credit

An 8-second spot for your screens and a one-line credit for the programme. The water that was going to be on stage anyway becomes a partner.

Festivals

Pallet deliveries to the site, cartons for artists, crew and VIP hospitality. The empties go into the carton stream, not the PET stream.

Orchestras on tour

Shelf-stable for twelve months at room temperature. A case travels in the truck with the instruments.

Recording sessions

No bottle crinkle on the floor microphones. The carton is paper; it is quiet.

The ONDE Foundation

1% of our profits, back to the artists and to the North.

ONDE travels. The water leaves a single spring above the Arctic Circle and ends up on stages across Europe, and that journey has a carbon cost. This is how we give back for it: 1% of ONDE's profits funds a foundation and an artists' residence in Rovaniemi, built from what the place is made of.

A wood-lined music room with a concert grand, tuned for chamber music and for long hours of practice, with the river in the window.

Jazz

Space to write and play late into the night: a small band room, a recording corner, and the quiet of a northern winter around it.

Dance

A sprung timber studio under a glass roof, where daylight changes through the season, from the midnight sun to the blue polar night.

The music room of the residence: a grand piano and a cello behind a glass wall, a wooden deck and a steaming lakeside sauna on the frozen shore Wood, water, stone, light

A residence made of the North.

Low pavilions in timber from replanted Nordic forests, which keep their carbon locked in for the life of the building. Large glass walls onto the birch forest and the river. Stone, wool and linen inside, a lakeside sauna on the water. Calm, warm and simple: a place made for listening.

Paying back the miles

Why 1%, and why here.

We do not call ONDE carbon neutral. We cut what we can at the source: paper instead of plastic, full pallets, no water stored in plastic. For the miles the water still travels, 1% of our profits goes back to the Arctic: to a building in timber, to the forest around it, and to the artists who stay there. Each year we publish the amount and what it paid for.
